Our little Peanut is growing!

Our little Peanut is growing! It is amazing to think of all the little details that are being formed to make this precious little body. It has been fun to keep track on a week by week time line on how our little baby is growing. I’m in my 12th week now (almost out of my first trimester!) Our baby is now approximately 2 ½ inches, about the size of a large plum. Even though there is still a lot of maturing to do, most of his or her system is already fully formed. For instance- 2 weeks ago the bone and cartilage was forming, knees and ankles were developing, and even teeth buds were forming under the gums. This was a little freaky to think about, but it also mentions that the baby was producing his or her digestive juices in their stomach, and the kidneys producing larger quantities of urine. (weird huh!?) Anyway, so far everything is still looking good. I will have another doctor appointment in a few weeks where we will probably schedule the following appointment to fine out if we will be having a boy or a girl. We’ll keep you posted!
